Washington Edwards, wife Abigail, and sons Almon and Albert Edwards are buried in Forrest Edwards' Cemetery, Otisfield ME.
Washington Edwards son of Jonathan lived south of Scribner Hill on the Jonathan Moors Jr. place, where David Jillson since lived. He took up some hot ashes and put them in a box beside the house and the house burned in consequence. He had the Colby Smith house which stood on Scribner Hill, hauled down to his place after the fire. He bought of Daniel H. Edwards, Oct. 31, 1855 for $1,000 that piece of land lying between Otisfield, Poland, and Thompson Pond Plantation and Thompson Pond, containing 50 acres and had no taxes to pay. He afterwards moved to Casco and died there. Source: History of Otisfield by William Samuel Spurr; Reprinted by the Town of Otisfield, 2nd edition |
