Gorham ME Samuel Edwards was Sergeant in Col. Burbank's Regt., Capt., McLellan's Co., in the War of 1812. This regiment was the one which marched to the relief of Portland, Me. Samuel Edwards lived on South St. in Gorham in a house which had the first plastered room in that town. Martha McLellan was the sister of Abigail McLellan James McLellan was the son of Bryce and Abigail McLellan of Portland, Me. The McLellan family became a prominent one in Gorham, Me. It was with the descendants of this family that various members of the Edwards family intermarried. The name Bryce, common in the McLellan family and which later became common in the Edwards family appears for the first time in the family of Samuel Edwards. Other Info:
