John Sawyer son of Jonathan Sawyer and Martha Rich 3/8/1769- 11/28/1837 m 10/4/1792 in Gorham Hannah Edwards dau of Richard Edwards and Hannah Lothrop. He went insane before 1812 and had to be kept in a cage. He escaped in 1820 and went to Gray and did some damage for which the town voted to pay $7. He was on the town for many years. Hannah m Eliph.
